To be revised.
Catalog
We are currently in the process of loading
active courses into Banner.
Schedule
We will begin entering Fall 2006 schedule
data as soon as the catalog information is finalized. In the absence
of actual Fall 2006 schedule data, we may need to load Fall 2005
data for testing and update after receiving Fall 2006 information.
Converted Records
In December 2005 we plan to migrate academic history beginning
with Winter 1984 through Fall 2005.
Pre-requisites
All pre-requisites will be systematically enforced beginning with
Fall 2006 enrollment. However, during registration for Fall 2006,
in progress pre-requisites will have to be manually overridden
as active enrollment in Spring and Summer terms will not be present
in Banner until the conclusion of the term. In progress courses
will be acknowledged by Banner beginning with Spring 2007 registration.
We will be
able to systematically enforce a wide range of pre-requisites.
Some examples include basic pre-requisites to verify completion
of specific classes or placement tests. Enrollment can also include
or exclude certain majors, levels, and classifications. In addition,
groupings of courses with minimum GPA requirements can also be
established as pre-requisites.
Waitlisting
Banner will not automatically enroll students off of waitlists
when seats become available. Banner waitlists are informational.
We will be attempting to establish revised procedures to manage
waitlists.
Accessing Student Information/Registration
Beginning January 2006 both SIS and Banner will need to be accessed
to obtain complete student information. Since enrollment activity will
be occurring in SIS and Banner simultaneously, we are in the process of
determining the extent of duplication that will occur. Some information
may exist solely in Banner whereas other information may occur solely
in SIS until the end of Spring and Summer 2006 terms
-
Summer 2006 registration will occur in our current system.
-
Fall 2006 registration will occur in Banner.
-
Web registration will be available in September 2006 for Spring
2007 registration.
Registration training is tentatively planned
for January 2006.
Class Lists/Grading
Spring and Summer 2006 class lists will be distributed in hard
copy consistent with current practice.
Spring and Summer 2006 grades will be collected and processed using
scantron forms.
Fall 2006 class lists will be accessed online.
Fall 2006 grades will be entered directly into Banner using Faculty
Self Service
CAPP
We have received training from SunGard SCT to develop Banner’s
degree audit tool. In addition, SunGard SCT developed these
10 SIUE degree programs. General education requirements as well
as major requirements were created within these programs.
We will begin testing these programs soon and
will ideally use them as a model to develop other programs. Steve
Zika will be leading the effort to develop all degree programs
at SIUE. We do not currently anticipate that CAPP will be available
for use in January 2006. However, we are making it a priority within
the Office of the Registrar and hope to have it available soon.
